After weeks of hype in the build up to the final of the 'Super Six' tournament in Atlantic City on Saturday night Britain's Carl Froch left the 'Boardwalk' empty handed and disappointed in his performance in a fight that he commented 'he never really got going in'. Andre Ward won the fight with a unanimous decision from the judges and now holds the Super Six title.
Joe commented - 'It was a shame for Carl, I really fancied him to do it before the fight, but Ward was the clear winner on the night.' Joe went on to say - 'I was impressed with the way Ward boxed on the inside, he looked to spoil a lot, he's a very clever fighter!'
When asked if he would have beaten Ward if the pair had met during the prime of his career, Joe smiled and replied - 'I think the way Ward fights would have suited me to be honest, I would have had too much speed and power for him - so yes, I would have beaten him, but congratulations to him and his team and I hope he goes on to have a good career'
